About Executor

Estate sales are endlessly fascinating. No matter how many you visit, there's always something new to discover. But here's the thing... the coolest, oddest, most one-of-a-kind stuff all ends up in the same place - the landfill. And that's a real shame, not only because it deprives the world of whimsy, but also because it means more unnecessary stuff gets made.

Wasteful, and sad.

Just shy of 500,000 estate sales happen in the US each year. That's a big number, but a small fraction of the potential, and we wanted to do something about that.

The process of holding an estate sale is stressful, difficult, and worst of all, opaque. Being the responsible party for a loved one's estate is a vulnerable position. Are you doing right by your loved one? Will the other beneficiaries of the estate be happy with your choices? Can you be sure the company you hire will actually deliver on their promises?

All that stress and pressure means that, in most cases, it's simpler take the obviously valuable or sentimental items, throw the rest in a dumpster, and move on.

So we started Executor.

The Executor software platform transforms an estate sale from a manual process, requiring expert judgement and discretion, to a highly transparent one, that keeps costs down, and maximizes sale revenue. For the first time, choosing to host an estate sale is easier than hiring a junk removal company. Really.

When you're ready, simply fill out a short form, and take some pictures with your phone. After that, the Executor team handles everything else. You'll get real time updates directly on your phone, and get complete insight into the entire process. Know who's showing up and when, what items are added to the inventory, when prices are set, and when sales happen. Everything.

Want to see a complete inventory list? No problem. Want to know if your grandfather's golf clubs sold yet? Easy. And we even make it just as simple to distribute funds once everything is complete.

Only Executor can offer this level of transparency.

And since every sale is a hybrid sale by default, taking place through both online auctions and an in-person, Executor is able to sell a higher percentage of estate inventory, for higher prices, than anyone else. All at a lower cost to you.

Shoppers benefit, too. Instead of overpaying in the hopes that you'll snag the last item for you collection, available within driving distance, you can now be in all 50 states at once. We let you know how rare an item is, so you can stay within your budget. Well, try to, any way.

Plus, advanced search tools are available to all, so you can set up alerts to get notified the second the mid-century lounger of your dreams goes live. Prefer to shop in person? With Executor, that's no problem, either.

Users can preview sales and RSVP, to ensure early bird access. We've eliminated the need to wait in line, then rush through a sale to try to beat other shoppers to good finds. We'll let you know exactly when to show up, and even let you know exactly where to find everything on your favorites list. When you're ready, just check out right from your phone.

All that is to say, Executor believes the more estate sales that happen, the better.

We want customers to walk away knowing they got a great deal on something they would never find anywhere else, and for clients to feel they did right by their loved ones and maximized proceeds from the sale, without adding to stressful circumstances.
